A catch basin only works if water can get into it and out of it. Over a few seasons, sediment, leaves, mulch and trash fill the bottom, the grate clogs and the water that should drain away sits in the parking lot or the common area. Older basins can also crack, settle or collapse, leaving a sinkhole next to the pavement.
Green Image handles catch basin installation and repair for HOAs, condo associations and commercial properties. We clean basins and their grates, rebuild failed basins and add new ones tied into the existing storm system where water collects with no inlet nearby.

Most catch basin problems start as maintenance problems. Mulch washing out of nearby beds, grass clippings blown toward the grate and sediment from storms all end up in the sump. Once it fills, the basin stops catching anything.
On properties where we handle grounds maintenance, catch basins get looked at as part of the routine, and the photos after each visit show their condition. Problems get flagged before the next storm, not after. Keeping mulch beds edged back from the grates and blowing clippings away from inlets during regular maintenance does more to keep basins working than an annual cleanout alone.
A collapsed or sinking basin is a safety issue and usually gets worse quickly. Signs include a depression in the pavement around the grate, a tilted or loose frame, soil visible inside the basin walls, or a hole opening next to the structure. Rebuilding involves excavating around the basin, replacing or repairing the structure, resetting the frame and grate and restoring the pavement and landscape around it.
Rebuilding a basin is concrete and structural work, so Green Image coordinates it through licensed subcontractors and manages it as 1 job with 1 schedule. Our crews handle the surrounding grading and landscape restoration.
New basins added to an existing storm system can affect a community’s permitted stormwater design. When that applies, the assessment says so and the work follows the required design and permits.
Catch basins are often the outlet for other drainage fixes. French drains and stormwater runoff work frequently tie into them. See the full drainage services page.
We locate and inspect every basin on the property and send a written assessment with photos. To set it up, request a quote or call (561) 309-9603.

Everything a board should check before it signs a landscape contract.
It depends on how much debris reaches them. Basins near beds, trees and parking areas fill faster. We check them during regular visits and recommend cleaning when sediment builds up.
A depression in the pavement around the grate, a loose or tilted frame, cracks in the basin walls or soil visible inside the structure. Any of these should be checked quickly.
Yes, where it can be tied into the existing storm system. If the change affects a permitted stormwater design, we flag that and the work follows the required design and permits.
Licensed subcontractors handle the structural and concrete work. Green Image coordinates it and handles the grading and landscape restoration around the basin.
