Most fertilization contracts say “4 applications per year” and nothing else. The board never sees what went down, when, or why the palms still look tired in March. When a manager asks, the answer is a product name nobody can check.

The GreenArmor fertilization program is Green Image’s named, quarterly schedule for turf, palms and flowering ornamentals on HOA, condominium and commercial properties. Each quarter has a stated purpose and stated fertilizer analyses, so your manager can show the board exactly what the property receives. It is the schedule behind our commercial fertilization and pest control service.

The GreenArmor quarterly schedule

This is the quarterly turf, palm and ornamental fertilization schedule, with the analyses (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) we use in each period:

  1. Q1, January to March: turf receives 9-0-24 or a weed and feed. Palms receive 13-3-13 or 8-2-12. The focus is root strength and control of winter weeds while growth is slow.
  2. Q2, April to June: turf receives 24-2-11 or 21-0-6. Flowering ornamentals receive 8-10-10 or 14-14-14. The focus is growth as temperatures rise and the rainy season starts.
  3. Q3, July to September: turf receives 9-0-24 or 10-0-22, high potassium blends for heat and stress tolerance. Palms receive 13-3-13 or 8-2-12.
  4. Q4, October to December: turf receives 24-2-11 or a weed and feed. The focus is turf strength going into the cooler months and control of weeds before they establish.

Weed, insect and disease scouting happens on every maintenance visit throughout the year, with targeted treatment when problems are found.

How Q3 works under local summer rules

Several South Florida municipalities, including the Town of Palm Beach and North Palm Beach, prohibit fertilizer containing nitrogen or phosphorus from June 1 through September 30 or later. On properties inside those cities, the summer quarter follows the local ordinance: only products the ordinance allows are applied, and nitrogen work moves to the quarters on either side. Your proposal names which rules apply at your address.

Palm nutrition in South Florida

Palms are often the most valuable plants on a commercial property and the slowest to recover from neglect. Sandy soil leaches potassium and magnesium quickly, and deficiencies show up first on older fronds as spotting, yellowing or browned tips. Manganese deficiency shows on new growth as weak, frizzled fronds. A frond that develops a deficiency does not recover, so the goal is to keep new growth healthy until the damaged fronds can be removed.

GreenArmor feeds palms twice a year with palm specific blends that carry potassium, magnesium and micronutrients, spread under the canopy. Damaged fronds are removed during scheduled palm trimming, and green fronds are left in place because the palm draws on them.

What the program includes in writing

  • A calendar for your property: quarter by quarter, adjusted for local fertilizer rules.
  • Photo documentation: every application recorded in CompanyCam with notes on what was applied and where.
  • Monthly summary: applications and any pest or deficiency findings included in your account manager’s report.
  • Warranty eligibility: GreenArmor is 1 of the 3 parts of our lifetime plant warranty. For full program accounts, where Green Image handles maintenance, irrigation, and fertilization and pest control, every plant and tree we install and maintain is covered for life. If one dies, we replace it.

Put GreenArmor on your property

An account manager will walk the property, check turf, palms and ornamentals and send a written assessment with photos within 72 hours, including the GreenArmor calendar for your site. Request a free quote or call (561) 309-9603.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can GreenArmor be added without full grounds maintenance?

The program works best alongside our maintenance visits, because scouting for weeds and pests happens on every visit. Ask your account manager during the walk, and the proposal will state what is included either way.

Summer rain and heat already push fast growth, so the summer blends lean on potassium for heat and stress tolerance. In cities with a summer fertilizer ban, only products the local ordinance allows are applied.

No. Palms receive palm specific blends with potassium, magnesium and micronutrients. Some high nitrogen turf products can make palm deficiencies worse, so the 2 are planned separately.

Each application is documented with photos and notes in CompanyCam and included in the monthly service summary. Your manager can show the board the date and product for every quarter.
