After a hurricane, the manager’s phone does not stop. Trees are on cars, palms are leaning over walkways, debris blocks entrances, and the board wants a plan before residents send the next round of emails. Every tree crew in the region is booked, and the vendors who were easy to reach in May are hard to find in September.

Green Image provides hurricane cleanup for HOAs, condos and commercial properties across Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade. Our approach starts before the season with a written plan, so when a storm hits we already know your property, your priorities and who to call.

Hurricane Cleanup for HOAs and Commercial Properties

Before the Storm: Prep That Reduces Cleanup

The Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. The work done in spring decides how bad the cleanup is in the fall:

  • Hazard tree review: dead, leaning and structurally weak trees flagged in writing for the board.
  • Dead wood and thinning: through commercial tree trimming, so wind passes through crowns.
  • Coconut and seed pod removal: fruit becomes a projectile in high wind.
  • Palm prep without hurricane cuts: dead fronds removed, green canopy kept, as described on our palm tree trimming page.
  • Drainage check: catch basins and inlets cleared so water has somewhere to go. See catch basin service.
  • Baseline photos: pre season photos of trees and landscape, useful later for insurance claims.

The Storm Priority List

Before the season, we build a priority list with the manager. After a storm, crews work it in this order:

  1. Access: clear entrances, gates, fire lanes and main drives.
  2. Life safety: trees and limbs on or over buildings, walkways and occupied areas, and hanging limbs.
  3. Property damage: trees on cars, fences, screens and amenities.
  4. Debris: cut, stack or haul fallen material from common areas.
  5. Recovery: stand up and brace salvageable trees and palms, then plan removals and replanting.

We do not promise response times after a regional storm. What we do is put your property on a list with its priorities already agreed, so there is no debate about what comes first when our crews arrive.

Documentation for Insurance Claims and Board Reports

Storm damage tree service is only half the job. The other half is the paper trail. Every storm visit includes photos of damage before work, during and after cleanup, tied to each area of the property. Combined with pre season baseline photos, this gives the manager and insurance adjuster a clear record. Every Visit Proof means the board gets the same report whether the work was routine trimming or emergency storm response for commercial properties.

After the Cleanup

Once the property is safe and clear, we provide a written list of remaining work: tree removals, stump grinding, replanting, sod repair and irrigation repairs. Each item is named and quoted separately so the board can approve in phases and track what insurance covers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you respond after a hurricane?

We do not promise response times, because after a regional storm every property is affected at once. Properties with a storm plan already in place have their priorities agreed in advance, so crews start the right work as soon as they arrive.

Yes. We photograph damage before cleanup, during work and after, tied to each area of the property. Pre season baseline photos make the before and after comparison clearer for the adjuster.

No. Overpruning palms weakens them and does not make them safer. The better prep is removing coconuts, seed pods and dead fronds, and keeping the green canopy.

Debris removal from common areas is part of storm cleanup and is listed in the scope. Where municipal debris pickup applies, we can stack material for collection instead if the board prefers.
