Seasonal color is the part of the landscape residents talk about. When the entrance beds are full, the property looks cared for. When the flowers are leggy, half dead, or still the same tired plants 4 months later, that is the first thing people mention at the board meeting.

Green Image handles seasonal color installation for HOAs, condo associations and commercial properties across Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade. We plan the rotation for the year, pick flowers that can handle the season, and keep the beds edged and clean between changes.

Seasonal Color Installation for HOA Entrances and Amenities

Annual Flower Rotations for HOA Entrances

Color works best where people actually look:

  • Main entrances: beds around the monument and gatehouse.
  • Signage beds: retail and office signs, where color draws the eye to the name.
  • Clubhouses and amenities: pool entries, leasing offices and fitness centers.
  • Medians and islands: small pockets of color at turns and roundabouts, kept low for sight lines.

Most properties rotate 2 to 4 times a year. We plan the calendar with the manager so changes land before events, holidays or the busy winter season. The dates go in the proposal, so the board knows when each change is coming.

Picking Flowers That Hold Up in South Florida Heat

The biggest reason seasonal color fails is planting the wrong flower for the season. What thrives in January can collapse in July heat and rain.

  • Cooler months: impatiens, petunias, begonias and snapdragons do well when nights are cool and rain is light.
  • Hot, wet months: pentas, angelonia, salvia, vinca and celosia handle heat and summer rains better.
  • Year round anchors: crotons, ixora and other durable shrubs give the bed structure so it never looks empty between rotations.

This is Plants for Life applied to annuals: the right plant for the conditions it will face, picked before it reaches the nursery truck.

Bed Borders and Edging

Color only looks finished inside a clean bed. Each rotation includes:

  1. Removing spent flowers and roots.
  2. Turning and amending the soil.
  3. Recutting the bed edge against turf or pavement.
  4. Planting at the right spacing so the bed fills in fast.
  5. Topping with mulch and watering in.

We check irrigation coverage in color beds before each change, since annuals are the first plants to suffer from a dry zone. Repairs go through our irrigation repair team. For larger bed redesigns or permanent borders, see landscape enhancements.

What Each Rotation Includes and What Is Quoted Separately

Each rotation covers removing spent flowers, soil prep, edging, new plants at the agreed count, mulch and watering in, with photos of every bed when the crew finishes. Quoted separately: new beds, bed enlargements, permanent shrub borders, and irrigation changes such as converting a color bed to drip. The proposal names the plants for each rotation, so the manager can share the plan with the board before anything is ordered.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should we rotate seasonal color?

Most properties rotate 2 to 4 times a year. More rotations keep the beds fresher, but even 2 well timed changes with the right plants for each season look better than frequent changes with the wrong ones.

Usually the plants were chosen for cooler months, the irrigation is not covering the bed, or the bed is too wet. We match the plants to the season and check the irrigation before every change.

Yes. Many associations want colors that match signage or the clubhouse. We plan the palette with the manager and show the plant choices before ordering.
